There is nothing better to create a mood in a garden than fragrance. With many of our plants and trees rewarding us with some stunning blossoms and flowers this Spring, we thought there was no better way to celebrate than by sharing some of our favourite fragrance plants. Enjoy!

1. Gardenia florida
The Florists’ Gardenia. This gorgeous flower is popular in wedding bouquets and corsages.

2. Murraya paniculata
The hardy Orange Jessamine. This plant is great for hedging and gives off a heady citrus aroma.

3. Philadelphus virginal
Mock orange. Exquisite orange blossom scented flowers on an elegant old fashioned deciduous shrub.

4. Trachelospermum jasminoides

Chinese Star Jasmine. This is an evergreen climber which is particularly useful in narrow sideways.

5. Osmanthus ‘Pearly Gates’
A hardy dwarf rounded shrub to 1.2m, suitable to most conditions.
